The national media has focused a great deal of attention on Colorado’s “Green Rush Experiment”.  The CBS Investigative News Show 60 Minutes even referred to it as the, “New Rocky Mountain High” and aired a segment on the green subject.

However, Coloradans are buzzing and focusing on a different color this month, their beloved Denver Broncos’ orange.

The Denver Broncos’ recent victory over the San Diego Chargers Sunday was the first meeting ever between the two teams in an NFL post-season divisional playoff game. Now, the Broncos are headed to the American Football Conference’s (AFC) Championship playoff game. The last time the Broncos played in an AFC Championship game was 2005, when they lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Broncos have home field advantage and look to avenge their loss to the New England Patriots earlier in the season. It will be the first time the Patriots, lead by quarterback Tom Brady, will be considered the underdogs in a playoff game since 2006.

The Orange Buzz has created such a demand for tickets that today’s average price ticket exceeded $650. The high price is probably due to fans wanting to witness Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, two of NFL’s legendary quarterbacks, play in a game. The winner of the AFC championship game advance on to play the NFC Champions, either San Francisco or Seattle in this year’s Super Bowl.

It’s been 15 years since the Broncos played in a Super Bowl game, so the stakes are high, and so are the Bronco fans. Buzzed in orange with high hopes for their team’s third Super Bowl title.  Go Broncos!
